Classes of antibiotics include the following:
  • Aminoglycosides.
  • Carbapenems.
  • Cephalosporins.
  • Fluoroquinolones.
  • Glycopeptides and lipoglycopeptides (such as vancomycin)
  • Macrolides (such as erythromycin and azithromycin)
  • Monobactams (aztreonam)
  • Oxazolidinones (such as linezolid and tedizolid)
